Neurodiversity recognizes that people learn, communicate, focus, and solve problems differently. We make room for those differences, with dignity and participation at the center.
Strengths and support needs vary, and nobody should have to demonstrate exceptional talent to deserve inclusion. We value curiosity, care, lived experience, and contribution in many forms.
People deserve respect for who they are, not only for what they produce.
How This Shapes Our Work
- Better questions: we welcome people who notice overlooked details or question assumptions, and we let evidence guide the result.
- More ways to contribute: clear written expectations, visual explanations, time to reflect, and flexible schedules with room for focused work, learning, and rest.
- Design for clarity: understandable language, predictable navigation, manageable steps, and helpful feedback, with accessibility built in from the start.
- Support without assumptions: we ask what helps instead of guessing from a label. Nobody should have to justify their worth to request support.
- Equal standing: an employee-owned team with a shared voice, shared responsibility, and work that respects family and wellbeing.
AI That Expands Participation
We explore AI that gives people more choice and independence: clearer explanations, useful summaries, task organization, and help finding community resources. People can question or decline assistance, and human help remains available. We evaluate each tool for accuracy, privacy, accessibility, and unintended barriers.
Build With the Community
The people affected by a system should have a voice in shaping it. We involve nonprofit staff, volunteers, and community members early to learn where information becomes confusing and what would make a service more useful. This reflects the spirit of Ubuntu that guides our projects: shared wellbeing, cooperation, and contribution.
We begin by listening. We improve by listening again.
