Devil's Advocate: You think your beliefs are good?

Devil's Advocate: You think your beliefs are good? Put one to the test. See the whole picture. An AI-guided game that asks questions, explores perspectives, and helps you find common ground. Six questions, one shared goal: 1. State the proposition: what is at the core of your belief? 2. Steelman the other side: represent their strongest reasoning. 3. Test the logic: which assumption is weakest? 4. Bring evidence: what would change your mind? 5. Switch perspectives: what do you both care about? 6. Synthesize and revise: find shared values and a next step. Question ideas, respect people. Curiosity over winning. Changing your mind is progress. Understand more. Judge less. Build bridges. AI questions powered by Amazon Bedrock, human reflection at the center.

You think your beliefs are good? Put one to the test. In Devil's Advocate, an AI powered by Amazon Bedrock doesn't argue with you. It asks you questions. Each question comes with a few possible answers: pick the one closest to yours, ask for more options, or write your own best answer.

The goal is not to win an argument. It is to question your own belief, see the whole picture, and discover how often people on opposite sides want mostly the same things: safety, fairness, dignity, a future for their children, and a living world.

Six questions, one shared goal

  1. State the proposition. What is really at the core of where you stand: values, facts, experience, or a prediction?
  2. Steelman the other side. Which reason would the most thoughtful people who disagree find most convincing?
  3. Test the logic. Which assumption behind your own position is the weakest?
  4. Bring evidence. What evidence would change your mind?
  5. Switch perspectives. What does someone who sees this differently most want, and do you want it too?
  6. Synthesize and revise. What do you understand better now? Then get a whole-picture summary: shared values, common ground, questions to keep asking yourself, and one next step.

Ground rules

  • Every human being has inherent value. We question ideas, institutions, and conduct, never identities or entire groups.
  • No answer is the "right" one. Picking an answer that challenges your own view, or writing your own, shows curiosity.
  • Changing your mind because of better evidence is progress, not defeat. It earns more points than defending a weak argument.
  • You can pass a question or change the topic at any time, without penalty.
  • The scores reward curiosity, fair representation, reasoning, evidence, intellectual humility, and bridge building, from 0 to 3 each.

A great game ends with: "I still disagree, but I understand your reasoning better, and I know what I need to investigate next."
